SWIRL MARKS: WHAT ARE THEY?

Swirl marks are scratches created by tiny particles rubbing on a vehicle’s paintwork. The name “swirl” stems from the fact that these scratches are most common when washing or cleaning a car. Unwanted particles can produce severe scratches when used with low-quality and unclean cloths, contaminated water, or both (as in the case of automatic vehicle wash machines).

Ironically, inferior detailing businesses are another cause of swirl marks. These businesses frequently reuse towels and water to save time and money, increasing the quantity of abrasive particles that come into touch with a vehicle’s finish. There are no fast cuts to totally removing these flaws; a standard paint repair process may help.
